third time's a charm: letters to july

We're coming up swiftly on the month of July which makes me think two things:

1. Where the sweet heeellllll is time going? Don't get me wrong I'm beyond excited for finally feeling some summer weather here in the UK and all the travel that summer usually brings me but seriously time, slow your shit down because I'm 5 years away from thirty and I need this time to pass as sluggishly as possible.

2. Will I be doing Letters to July this year?

I've been getting a lot of questions about this and I've decided - yes. I will again be trying desperately to post one video per day for the entire month of July. I have a real love-hate relationship with this project because on one hand - I like being challenged to push out a lot of videos with very specific constraints and no room for perfectionism because it allows me to make things I otherwise wouldn't have. On the other hand, it's a lot of work and unfortunately takes place in what always seems to be the busiest time of the year for me. But the rewards surely outweigh the negatives so again I will be doing it.

I will, of course, be looking for guests to write Letters to July for about 10-15 days of the year because I simply won't be able to do all the videos myself this year with my schedule, but also, I think it adds an insane amount of value to the project. I always initially try to limit the number of guest-letters but then I see the people who volunteer and then I become insatiably curious about what they would make so the number of guest-letters go up. Also personally I get pretty tired of hearing myself drone on by about day 3 and hearing from other people in different places with different perspectives gives me the strength to go on. So if you're interested in helping out, please let me know via Twitter or in the comments or whatever. Unfortunately I typically only choose people who I know on some level (even just via the internet) because there is a degree of trust needed as these guests typically log into my account and upload on their own. That being said, if you still want to participate you absolutely should!! Many people uploaded their own versions on their respective channels and I watched many of them last year, and loved it up. An absolute slew of them can be found on YouTube.

So yes - if you'd like to make a guest video on my channel (and I know you in some way shape or form) then please get in touch. And if you want to participate on your own then do!! It's always a valuable experience for me and I'm sure you'll enjoy the process.

See you soon, July!
